Dalveen 4374 Kay Spence

All about our property at Dalveen, everyday life in Brisbane and Dalveen and Stanthorpe, photography, bird watching, cooking, reading, wining and dining, movies, holidays and travelling, basically the life of Kay Spence and her friends and family, I'm a 60 something Queenslander, retired and indolent and positively loving it.

Kay Spence
My first 7 years were on a sheep station near Muttaburra. We moved to Brisbane in 1957 and lived at St John's Wood. I went to Ashgrove State School and then on to St. Margaret's. After business school, I worked at Athol Flynn until Jul 1969 when I sailed on the Himalaya to London. I returned home in 1970 and went governessing to Iffley Station. 1971 I went to Rabaul, PNG where I worked at Coconut Products for a year. Back in Brisbane I worked for 5 months at FCA. In Mar 1973 I went to Melbourne until Oct 1973. I went to NZ on a holiday from Oct to Dec 1973. I returned to Brisbane where I worked for AGC. In Jan 1975 I returned to London working for Royal Lifesaving Society 1975 and then Thomas Cooks 1976. I returned to Australia via overland with Butterfield Tours going through Turkey, Iran, Afghanistan, Pakistan, India, Thailand, Malaysia and Singapore. I arrived home in Nov 1976. In Jan 1977 I commenced a long career with the Qld Govt including Qld Health, Children's Commission, and SPER. I retired in 2007 and since then I've been happily indolent.
